Professional & Technical Services DirectorFounded in 2000, SKG Properties specialises in the development leasing and management of commercial and industrial real estate.Joining us means seizing an opportunity to work in a dynamic, industry leading property company in South Africa, where ethics, customer service and teamwork are the foundations of our success.ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Director of Professional and Technical Services to lead our department responsible for the long-term requirements of our property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. As the Director, you will oversee cost estimation, procurement, technical operations, and project management across our diverse properties.RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership:Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy aligned with SKG Properties vision and goals.Collaborate with senior leadership to define departmental objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).Quantity Surveying and Cost Estimation:Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.Ensure other functional areas e.g. Facilities Management and Field Services are included in the design and construction of projects to ensure a smooth handover to operations upon completion.Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.Procurement and Contract Management:Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract administration.Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry standards.Technical Operations:Oversee technical systems, infrastructure, and utility hardware across our properties.Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to optimize technical efficiency.Project Management:Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.Work with other functional areas to ensure successful handover of completed projects and documentation.Risk Assessments and Mitigation:Identify and assess risks related to project costs, materials, and technical operations.Generate regular financial reports, including cost breakdowns, forecasts, and cash flow projections.Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Ensure the accuracy and reliability of technical data.Review project documentation for compliance with standards.Ensure all technical compliance certification & documentation are obtained and stored.Industry Research and Innovation:Stay informed about industry trends, market rates, and emerging technologies.Explore innovative approaches to enhance technical efficiency.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred).Professional membership (e.g., MRICS, PQS) is advantageous.Must have Executive level leadership experienceMinimum of 10 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying and technical management.SKILLS:Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.Proficiency in quantity surveying software, technical systems, and tools.Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices.Psychometric tests are required to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates.Should you not have been contacted by 29th June2024 please consider your application unsuccessful.#J-18808-Ljbffr
