The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the design, commissioning, and operation of pilot-scale facilities in the Hydrometallurgy Division. Reporting to the Head of Metal Recovery and Remediation, the successful candidate must assume an active role in the operation of laboratory and pilot-scale Test work. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Assist, under supervision, in the commissioning and operation of pilot-scale facilities in the Hydrometallurgy Division.Establish specifications, improve workflows, and introduce operating procedures – project-level.Actively participate in the execution of pilot plant projects in line with specific project modification requirements.Prepare proposals under direct supervision for small, routine projects and Open-call internal proposals for funding.Assisting in housekeeping, preparation of bulk samples, preparation facilities and handling and processing of solid and effluent materials in a safe and responsible manner.Prepare equipment and facilities for use and check the operability of standard equipment and facilities to ensure that they are ready for use.Provide technical and procedural advice to staff on how to operate equipment, which equipment settings are optimal, etc., involved.
