As a clear communicator, you’re also comfortable in taking technical concepts and making them relatable to less technical audiences, ensuring maximum engagement and alignment around our shared goals. This role is joining our Pricing team therefore a background in working on Pricing challenges ideally within a marketplace team would be ideal. What you'll be doing:Help future proof the business and support growth by delivering excellent production ready, logical and pragmatic code in the following languages - Java, AWSFollow best-in-class agile processesDrive for use of accepted design patterns to allow for autonomous and iterative development and future scaling needsUse business and system domain knowledge to anticipate and minimise the cost of future changeManage stakeholder expectations and anticipate and communicate blockers, delays to mitigate risk in advance of issues arisingEnsure testing techniques and frameworks are considered and champion improvements to achieve company quality goals more efficientlyHelp foster a security first mindsetTroubleshoot and solve complex software issues to overcome obstacles, resolve blockers and complete tasksCommunication and collaboration - You’ll work closely with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders to build trust based relationships and foster a culture of open collaboration, ensuring complex technical issues and findings can be easily translatable to both technical and non-technical audience.Working in the pricing team focusing on delivering market leading solutions to a key part of the AnyVan user journey.Mentor and coach more junior team membersWhat skills and experience would set you up for success in the role:Experience working across the stack with exposure to several of the following:Java, AWSGenuine passion for the end product and delivering outstanding customer solutions with pragmatic, logical and maintainable codeExperience influencing key stakeholders (internally and externally) to consistently deliver against key projectsAn in-depth understanding of web development practices and technologies and tools. Working Patterns We are extremely proud of our culture and believe in the many benefits that being in the office provides - all our roles require regular time in our office in the central business district in Cape Town. We do not offer fully remote roles but we support hybrid working wherever possible (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
