The company designs, installs, and maintains large scale commercial solar/battery solutions across South Africa. Job summary: An opportunity has become available at an environmental solutions company for a senior general manager who holds an electrical engineering or master electrician qualification to manage the design, installation and maintenance of Solar Scale Commercial Solar Installations in Southern Africa. Job responsibilities: Handling procurement of hardware ranging from panels, batteries, inverters, cabling, and all other hardware related to solar solutions. Design solar solution and calculate the load requirements and energy production from different sources Ensure compliance to legislation and submit council applications Sourcing new suppliers and managing existing suppliers to procure solar solutions hardware, negotiate pricing and stock availability. Project Management of new installations which involves: Procurement of hardware Managing installation teams and various contractors Ensuring that projects run according to agreed timelines and budgets. Communicate complex technical information, including writing clear and concise reports, to a range of stakeholders, including clients, team members, and contractors. Managing team members in all departments of the company Managing the ongoing performance of completed solar projects. High-level client relations and ensuring clients are always informed and happy with installations. Job type: Permanent Job location: Office based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, South Africa.
