QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12 or equivalent.National diploma in mechanical engineering or a technical trade qualification (such as a trade test pass in diesel fitting)Electrical qualification or experience is an added advantage.At least 4 years of engineering experience (post qualification).Experience in field service would be advantageous but not essentialValid drivers licence and passport RESPONSIBILITIESProviding technical support and resolving queries with sales staff, branches, customers, OEMs and service partners (including site visits).Conducting site tests on engine installations to ensure compliance with diesel technical specifications.Conducting engine failure analysis on site (including underground) and in-service partner workshops.Compiling engine failure analysis reportsDistribution of technical documentationConducting technical product trainingConducting service partner auditsKnowledge and SkillsWell-developed knowledge of diesel enginesAbility to acquire company product knowledgeBasic computer (PC) knowledgeGeneral knowledge and understanding of safety legislationExperience leading to an in-depth understanding of diesel powers EDP systemsGood Computer skillsWell-developed planning, organizing and job-coordinating skillsStrong communication skills English language (verbal and written)Well-developed report writing and presentation skillsWell-developed diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to exercise discretion and judgment
