Select your country to see jobs specific to your location.Corporate Actuarial Manager - Gauteng, RosebankMain Purpose:The role holder will be responsible to oversee a team and to perform routine Reserving or Capital tasks as assigned, requiring minimal direct supervision and to perform more complex analyses.Key Performance Areas:GeneralProvide actuarial services with minimal supervisionCoordinate work tasksProvide guidance to members of the teamPreform more complex analysesDemonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures to be able to provide first class service to international clientsReserving SpecificUnder general direction, support reserving, reinsurance analysis, or market-facing business units in support of business objectives and annual IFRS auditWith appropriate review and guidance from management coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses including any premium projections, consultations on actuarial models, and risk-based capital issuesSupport financial, market facing business units, claims, risks, capital management, and other functions on reserving and strategic business decisionsCapital SpecificUnder general direction, support capital modelling, data quality, regulatory returns, and auditsWith appropriate review and guidance management, coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses including collection of information from various stakeholders across the businessBusiness Support SpecificSupport actuarial services related to risk-based capital model development, parameterisation and allocation activitiesPerform data analytics and / or reinsurance analysisRelationships:InternalActuarial business partnersClaimsFinance (FAR and PPM)Senior management / executivesExternalHead Actuarial FunctionAuditors (external and internal)Network of contacts within the actuarial professionUniversity degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field3 to 7 years of experience in an actuarial environmentSelf-motivation and driveProfessional, enthusiastic, and positive attitudeAble to meet deadlines and work under pressureStrong knowledge of actuarial professional guidance and relevant legislationStrong knowledge of financial and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reportingKnowledge of the insurance industry trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsettersKnowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's businessKnowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organisationProficiency in English with a preference for proficiency in at least one other languageDesired Skills:FinanceActuarialwork under pressureDesired Work Experience:2 to 5 years Actuarial Management / AdministrationDesired Qualification Level:DegreeAbout The Employer:Premier, proactive commercial risk specialist in Southern Africa.The number of jobs in each salary range for all: R1.17 MILLION PER ANNUM CTC-(increase due within t#J-18808-Ljbffr
