Leoka Engineering has a vacancy for a General Engineering Specialist (Mechanical) Location: Limpopo Province, South Africa (on-site at the mine) About Us: We are the EPCM for underground expansion project at a leading mining company whose mine is located in Limpopo Province, South Africa. As we continue to grow and innovate, we are seeking a skilled General Engineering Specialist (Mechanical) to join our team and contribute to the success of this project. Role Overview: As a General Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting the Construction Superintend to oversee and manage all Construction Project related aspects of the various installation contractors as well as the owner managed SOW as assigned by the Construction Superintendent. The General Engineering Specialist will ensure that all construction project SOW is executed according to approved drawings and design as well as in compliance to the MHSA of South Africa. Key Responsibilities: Assist in Delivering Construction of the Project, Commercial Focus, Optimizing&Sustaining Value . Review designs for the project with regards to constructability alongside the Project Construction Superintendent. Oversee the management of all aspects of the construction project. Identify and manage issues during the construction phase of the project that could affect the ability of the operation to meet corporate, community and stakeholders. Aligning People . Leading People, Business Focus Collaboration, Building Productive Stakeholder Relations.Assist to Lead the construction team members in a way that realizes their full potential and has them achieve all project goals. Provide technical leadership and guidance to staff on the project. Motivate people to deliver superior results. Promoting collaboration and alignment to ensure projects are constructed in a socially responsible manner. Where owner team management is involved, manage teams and OEM’s from start of the construction process to achieve maximum value for the project. Taking responsibility and accountability for own behavior, performance, and development Getting Results. Protecting HSEQ, Getting the Technology Right, Knowing the business of Construction of Projects. Monitor construction against drawing and design to ensure project success. Assist in maintaining structures to ensure acceptable quality standards are achieved in all aspects of the construction and installation. Assist to maintain structures to ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with Health and Environmental requirements. Requirements: Valid Mechanical or related Trade certificate. Minimum 3 years Underground experience. Minimum 3 years Project/Construction experience Mine Health&Safety Act. General Safety Systems Analytical Skills (knowledge PMC Standards and Procedures will be advantageous). Project/Construction Management principles Quality Management principles Construction principles and installation of Mechanical and Piping. Negotiation Skills Ability to work under pressure.
