Skills&Experience: Transmission/ Distribution Project Engineering Project Management Qualification: BEng or BSc or BTech (Electrical Engineering) Professionally registered with ECSA Requirements: General understanding of Control/Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) Systems, Switchgear, Transformers, Substation, and Distribution/Transmission throughout the project lifecycle Strong technical grasp of Power Systems, including protection, instrumentation, and renewable energy systems Proficiency in electrical power systems software such as Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP/DigSilent) Conduct advanced system studies including short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination, and earthing Familiarity with electrical transmission and distribution systems and techniques, as well as knowledge of cable and wire products and design methods Expertise in Electrical Control Systems, encompassing design, equipment, and system implementation Ability to apply technical knowledge to develop design criteria that meet project requirements or support the design of new components/equipment Proficient in creating, interpreting, and communicating technical specifications and documentation Capable of developing plant layouts that are functional, safe, and cost-effective Understanding of materials fundamentals and their properties relevant to engineering and manufacturing activities Knowledge of on-site construction work, commissioning processes, and interactions with contractors and suppliers Competence in cost estimation, including the cost of deliverables generation, and understanding project budgeting and procurement processes Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Mine Health Safety Act, and Environmental Management principles, practices, and statutory requirements Comprehensive understanding of electrical infrastructure systems, including protection and distribution requirements, as well as familiarity with commercial construction industry practices, construction contracts, and budget/schedule management High level of motivation coupled with strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, influence, people management abilities, and a commitment to leading by example and fostering teamwork Ensure timely, within-scope, and within-budget delivery of all projects Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving relevant internal stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility Ensure availability and allocation of resources for project execution Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress effectively Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification methods Measure project performance using relevant project management tools and techniques Demonstrated experience in project execution through EPC/EPCM/Construction partners Additional Information: Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
