Our Client, an auditing and business advisory firm, aims to provide both corporate and individual clients with the advice, information and support they require to manage and grow their own businesses. In addition, they ensure compliance with the many laws that govern South African industry. They are recruiting for an experienced Tax Consultant to join their teamJob Purpose: The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients (including individuals, corporate entities, and trusts). The candidate would be required to liaise directly with clients and is expected to be capable of working with limited supervision from senior management.Responsibilities:Draft Tax Calculations and Income Tax returns – Mainly for individuals and deceased estates, but at times it may be necessary to prepare tax returns for Trusts and CorporatesPreparation and submission of provisional tax calculations for individuals, companies, and trustsSend requests to clients for information necessary for the completion of various tax returnsCheck AssessmentsAssistance with drafting and submission of objections where necessary (Income Tax, VAT, Employees Tax)Assistance with drafting of responses to SARS queries and SARS AuditsDeclarations of Ceasing to Be ResidentApproval of International Transfer (AIT) ApplicationsDividends Tax returnsTax Directive ApplicationsAccount Maintenance for all tax typesAttend SARS Appointments where requiredDeal with client queries and requestsSkills or competencies:Ability to work under pressureAttention to detailGood communication and interpersonal skillsTeam playerStrong analytical skillsStrong administration skillsStrong understanding of the overall Microsoft Office packageKnowledge of Great Soft would be advantageousQualification and Experience:A minimum of 3 - 5 years prior experience working within a similar roleSolid knowledge of the Income Tax Act, the tax systems and practical experience in dealing with SARS is compulsoryExperience working on E-Filing is compulsoryIt is essential that the candidate is able to communicate directly with clients in a professional and confident mannerCandidate should be willing to teach and share knowledge with more junior colleaguesSuitable qualifications would be favorable but are not compulsoryShould you wish to apply for the position, please apply directly via this job board, please ensure that you quote reference number 202636 subject heading or email body.Surgo (Pty) Ltd will consider all applications in terms of its Employment Equity (EE) and is committed in maintaining diversity in its’ appointments.
