Transporter Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with transporters and logistics partners across the region. Source and negotiate truck capacity to ensure sufficient availability.  Must have established relationships with transporters Truck Allocation: Efficiently allocate available trucks to each country based on their requirements, shipping priorities, and timeframes. Optimize truck usage to improve truck turn around and reduce transportation costs. Optimization Strategies: Devise optimal transportation strategies to maximize load utilization, minimize transit times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and track the performance of transporters, including on-time deliveries, adherence to schedules, and service quality. Address any performance issues proactively and implement corrective actions when needed. Reporting : Generate regular reports on capacity planning, truck allocations, and transporter performance. Present data-driven insights and recommendations to the Regional Operations Manager. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between in-country operations teams, warehouses, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a seamless and coordinated supply chain process. Problem Solving: Identify potential transportation challenges, bottlenecks, and risks. Develop contingency plans and solutions to mitigate disruptions and ensure smooth operations. Market Analysis : Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting transportation and logistics in the Southern Africa region.
