Our area of expertise is Early Childhood and Community Development. We have been serving indigent communities in Grahamstown and surrounding areas since 1981.The CSD Statement of Purpose:The CSD envisions vibrant communities that take responsibility for the early childhood developmental needs of their children, as a foundation for achieving human potential. The CSD facilitates the development of early childhood communities and imparts skills to Practitioners to strengthen community-owned initiatives. Our practice is based on a caring professionalism that builds relationships which affirm and support the ability of people to arrive at their own solutions. The CSD’s holistic approach to development involves ensures sustainable, community driven projects. The approach is holistic, with emphasis being placed on contextual support. Local knowledge is valued, and respected and local people are involved in their research analysis and planning of outcomes.Main ObjectivesTo meet the CSD’s financial and general administrative needs. The incumbent is required to provide high standards of financial administration, managerial and secretarial support to the Director and Board at the CSD as well as the supervision of the administrative staff.Education and Experience RequirementsGrade 12 plus approximately 4 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -Previous administrative experience with a computerised environment, which includes good organisational and planning skills as well as problem-solving and time management skillsPrevious financial administration experience where consolidating accounts and where investigating and reconciling multiple accounts was a key responsibilityPrevious experience in supervising staff, motivation of staff and dealing with conflict and /or the RU Supervisory CertificatePrevious experience organising, prioritizing and planning day-to-day workPrevious experience with donor organisations will be an advantagePrevious experience with managing budgets for multiple projects will be an advantageApplication ProcessIt is essential that prospective candidates read the job profile for further information and ensure that all relevant documentation is submitted.The following documents are required:A comprehensive CV and relevant qualifications which should include the following: -Reasons for leaving your current and previous jobs.Referees who are and/or were your direct line manager, their title, name, designation and contact information which should be at least their contact number and email address.A strong and succinct motivation which tells us your interest in the post and suitability relative to the job requirements.Please note, no hand-written applications will be considered.
