RPO's client is seeking a Head of Finance&Compliance (HFC), a professionally qualified and experienced mid-management role reporting to the CIO and founding Senior Portfolio Managers. The main purpose of this position is to manage the financial, risk, and compliance functions of the organization, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and effective risk management within the Finance&Compliance department. The HFC will apply broad knowledge of regulations, techniques, and processes, determine their own priorities to ensure all functions are attended to, and engage in various aspects of the company as needed. Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing day-to-day operations. Ensuring efficiency. Managing key support functions including Finance, Risk, and Compliance, and some operational matters. Playing a vital role in the effective and compliant functioning of the company. Finance Management : Oversight of all Finance activities. Coordinating activities of independent auditors. Ensuring audit and compliance issues are resolved. Preparing annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Reviewing monthly management accounts, financial inputs for the Board and its committees, budgets, valuations for staff share scheme, financial soundness calculations, and submissions to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). Overseeing Black Economic Empowerment policy and rating. Managing the Payroll function and outsourced providers. Risk and Compliance : Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management and compliance programs. Liaise with external compliance services provider on monthly reviews. Provide reports to regulatory bodies. Maintain documentation demonstrating adherence to legal and ethical standards. Implement risk management strategies covering operational, financial, and compliance risks. Maintain and update company policies and procedures, including IT policies. Member of the Risk&Compliance Committee. Other Duties : Overseeing business insurance and other office-related matters. Coordinating activities, agenda, and packs of the EXCO, Board, and other committee meetings. Requirements CA (SA) qualification Minimum of 3-8 years in an operational and finance role within the investment industry. Proven experience in Finance, Risk, Compliance, and IT.
