Requirement ReviewTo provide support to Data Analytics Manager in management of data analytics projects for both MFMA and PFMA audit cycles in accordance with AGSA Policies and Procedures. The incumbent will also be expected to provide data analytics support to various audit business units within AGSA, i.e. Regulatory Audit, Information Systems Audit, Investigation Business Unit, and Performance Audit.The incumbent will advocate for a data-driven culture, provide leadership for a team of data analysts and trainee data analyst. Where necessary, the incumbent will provide support and train trainee data analyst on various data analytics and data science tools.Roles and ResponsibilitiesStrategic FunctionSupport the implementation of the business unit balance score card(BU BSC) on the development and execution of fraud data analytic projects.Product ManagementConduct data analytic assignmentsDevelop data analytics modelsEnsure that the data analytics models are well developed, tested, and implementedEnsure that the integrity and dependability of data for analytical purposes are processed, cleansed and verifiedDevelop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasetsEvaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning dataWork directly with audit business units managers and senior managers to gather their data analytics requirements, provide status updates and build relationshipsUsing existing and new data sources to extract new information and convey that information according to the audience to the dataPromote and manage sound internal controls within the Business UnitKeep abreast of the latest development at the AGSAStakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Coordinate stakeholder engagements/meetings for the management team and ensure proper record keeping.Actively participate in technical discussions as required.Provide support with the packaging of information to be used in a knowledge sharing setup on audit insights, research findings and general knowledge.Manage the feedback process to stakeholders by tracking all queries received, getting the relevant information and formulating appropriate responses according to the approved protocol.People ManagementManage own performance to drive productivity.Participate in the business unit transformation/culture plans.Provide support to the management team with regard to centre management and other people related tasks.Financial management and operational managementEnsure compliance to AGSA policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.Manage supply chain processes within scope of work.Other responsibilities (Applicable to All JD’s)Perform and/or manage other projects, tasks and assignments not stipulated on the Job description as and when required.Skills, Experience and EducationFormal EducationMinimum qualification of: B Com or BSC degree in information systems, Informatics,Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Data Engineering,Computer Science or EquivalentOrNational Diploma or BTech degree in Financial Information SystemsThe following will be an added advantage:Understanding of ERP system (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft or JD Edwards)Proficiency in R, Stata, or PythonSQLAlteryxACLExperienceMinimum 3 – 5 years data analytics or data science experience.Experience in data Visualisation using Power BI, Tableau and other data Visualisation tools is essential.Experience with data architecture, data modelling, dashboards/ visualization and relational databases involved in application development and big dataClosing StatementThese appointments are subject to the preferred candidates obtaining the necessary security clearance, reference checking and competency assessment.We embrace employment equity and are committed to achievement of fair and equal representation of our workforce.Preference will be given to internal applicants and candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.Auditor General welcomes applications from all persons with disabilities#J-18808-Ljbffr
