Stockbroking Contract: Permanent Remuneration: Market Related EE position: Yes Introduction To manage a team of test analyst and senior test analyst to ensure that the highest level of quality of all JSE systems is maintained to minimize risks. Business and Financial Results Management Provide input into departmental budget to ensure appropriate resource allocation in achievement of departmental goals Ensure that the implementation of the departmental / strategy implementation plan is on track by creating test plans which give time and quality that needs to be met to ensure they stay within deadlines and give structure on what needs to be done Ensure efficiency and productivity improvements by staying abreast of technology changes and conduct Lessons learnt - meetings to identify what went well and what went not well and how to take corrective steps Stakeholder Relationship Management Build relationships with colleagues, peers and staff by using appropriate interpersonal styles Interact with others in a way that promotes openness and trust and gives them confidence in one’s intentions Ensure that team and self-understand all agreed internal/external client service and satisfaction objectives by conducting requirement gathering sessions with all stakeholders and ensuring that the team gets up to speed and is aware of all requirements Ensure that team and self-meet all agreed internal/external client service and satisfaction objectives by ensuring all requirements and scenarios are translated into test cases and all the test cases meets the business requirements and have a "pass" status on Team Foundation Server Ensure all team members do a peer reviews on each other's test cases to make sure all criteria are met Process Management Create and implement staff and resource plans clear work allocation accountability to deliver on the departmental/divisional strategy Review and give input into peer reviews that is completed so that requirements can be signed off and the testing process can start to ensure execution and corrective action taken effectively Ensure the business unit conducts user acceptance testing and give support where necessary Write a User Acceptance Testing report and distribute to all stakeholder to manage expectations and adhere to timelines Conduct a pre -UIT session and run the relevant business unit through the changes and manage their expectation with regard to the final product Ensure that the Testers do Integrated Verification Testing and check that the test environment of the application is correct to ensure readiness for tests execution Ensure that they execute the function of being the gatekeepers of the testing process to ensure that entry and exit criteria for each testing phase is met and that quality processes are adhere to Check that team efficiency and effectiveness improved year on year by assessing individuals skills; determine areas of growth and motivate need for training to improve skills based on their needs Make quality decisions and solutions that improve service delivery by reviewing execution reports and managing exit and entry criteria and move what needs to move to the next testing phase Check for any defect reports to get perspective of what system quality looks like to determine status of specific project and manage implications of that by discussing with team and tell them what to do Set up or update testing activities for the day where necessary, conduct daily meetings with team to discuss progress; consolidate issues that keep team from continuing; remove obstacles and solve issues so that team can keep on working Hold Defect Triage Meetings with developers and testers to prioritise defects in terms of importance so that the testing process can continuous; and escalating obstacles to be solved when necessary Monitor test progress and defect resolutions throughout the day to ensure that the testing process continuous Manage situation when team is not able to test due to environmental problems by providing Infrastructure with the relevant symptoms to enable them to identify and solve the problem so that the team can continue testing Escalate decision making to management when the business requirements for the testing changes to ensure all stakeholder are informed and in agreement with testing process Manage defect logging by setting a standard for the process; ensure correct communication between testers and developers take place so that developers get as much info as possible in order for them to fulfil defect resolution Ensure that the test process is implemented in time and on standard by staying on track with the test plans. Test process includes extracting requirements and creating and executing test cases Ensure team follow processes, standards and protocols and procedures by constant monitoring of all activities throughout the day on the TFS (Team Foundation Server) Team Management Ensure all team members understood and supported JSE vision and divisional strategy Take accountability for making others successful by removing obstacles to team performance and success Participate in recruitment processes to ensure selection contributing to success of team Ensure on boarding process is followed for all new hires and transfers to embed the JSE values and cultures Ensure self and team members has required skill and professional/ technical expertise by assessing gaps and development areas and creating development plans Ensure each team member has a job profile that profiles team member with a view of full performance in the job Create performance agreement for each team member with measurable goals and objectives so that they understand how their performance will be viewed, recognised and rewarded Conduct performance review sessions with team members to review performance and progress against targets and agree on appropriate action required to meet targets or standards Engaged with team in such a way that the feel motivated to achieve better performance, feel respected and diversity is valued Epitomise living the JSE values and keep team accountable for displaying the values in their behaviour Transformation and Innovation Management Support implementation of business optimisation improvement through team engagement Encourage innovation, listen and act upon ideas from team and provided technical / expert contribution Meet EE/BEE targets as related to team through appropriate recruitment selection decisions Testing Foundation Qualification Preferred Qualification Degree in IT Experience 4 - 6 years having done software testing, including 2-3 years’ experience in managing a team Professional Knowledge Basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet, Email) Divisional service offerings Business continuity standard Business principles Decision-making process Coaching principles Diversity management Employee training/development Performance management and evaluation methods JSE Job levels, Nature of job standards and performance agreements #J-18808-Ljbffr
