Santam has a role available for a Chief Product Owner, reporting to the Chief Operations Officer: Santam Broker Solutions.   WHAT WILL YOU DODevelop and oversee the implementation of the change of the policy administration system for Outsourced Business. This includes participation in and design contribution to system build, integration into new PAS and migration journey strategy that manages the delivery and governance of the programme in a manner that ensures a seamless transition for both business partners and internal stakeholders, to meet business strategic objectives. WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLEThe CPO or PO’s responsibilities span across the domains of business product, platform/channel and system (IT solution); and across the full development life cycle from prioritization, define & design, development, integration, testing & training, delivery into the teams (both internally and business partners) and benefits realization. This role work very closely with the leadership team of the Business and contribute to Santam’s overall objective of profitable growth.ProductResponsible for defining, prioritizing, evaluating, and inspecting the work generated by delivery teams in order to ensure delivered features and functionality is supportive of realising the agreed objectives.Contribute to the product design and active participation in change initiatives and projects by providing vision and direction to the development teams and stakeholders throughout the initiative or project and create business requirements.Integral involvement in business case, project plan and other relevant delivery Key participation in the overall architecture of the strategic imperatives relating to Outsourced Business roadmap.Oversee the development of user training plans and roll out. Oversee the migration and integration of Outsourced Business to Policy Centre (Internal Process) (Migration roadmap, liaison but not the primary accountabilityResponsible for defining, prioritizing, evaluating, and inspecting the work generated by delivery teams in order to ensure delivered features and functionality is supportive of realising the future business strategy.SystemsBuild and demonstrate an understanding of the Third-Party Administration Systems and Santam internal systems roadmap to timeously identify and mitigate against potential integration shortcomings. Ensure that external system owners comply with our system and regulatory requirements and vice versa for system integration.Act as a point of escalation and single point of contact for external vendors who will be integrating their systems into ours.Identify and ensure proper governance framework to ensure risks are effectively managed.Oversee effective stakeholder integration to achieve optimal cross project integration and effective management of project interdependences. WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE, CONTINUED...ProcessIdentify the future capabilities (People, Product, Process and Technology) that will enable the strategy; and defining a multi-year roadmap for delivery of capabilities.Lead the planning of business and IT solution release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities. Responsible for the creation of a single prioritised backlog of value-based outcomes. Facilitate a Business Product Owner and Subject Matter group across business areas to inform the business requirements. Play a leadership role in the Change Agents network within BU and across the business.Provide input into the risk identification processes and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum Identify programme risks and collaborate with stakeholders to manage the mitigation of risks. Demonstrate the ability and understanding to facilitate integration of products, platforms and systems, processes into the broader Santam strategy.Ensure the enabling functions are optimally ready for the actual migration.Identify and support the implementation of initiatives that address migration shortcomings or areas of concerns.Drive the timeous and accurate project reporting to ensure that stakeholders are aware of project progress and risks.Positively influence and participate in change initiatives. Deliver on service level agreements made with internal and external stakeholders and business partners. Develop an escalation framework to address any bottlenecks that risk the timeous delivery of agreed milestones and any identified risks. (escalation process)Build and maintain relationships with business partners and internal and external stakeholders. Function as a liaison to Business and IT partners to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology.Identify opportunities to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.Develop stakeholder mapping and engagement plan that incorporates BITS, Internal Business Units, Brokers, and binder agreement holders.
