Software Development Manager opportunity with Financial Services Company based in Pretoria East to manage team of Java Developers, IT Technicians and Network Infrastructure, Budget Management, to provide technical expertise and Coordinate Projects to ensure a smooth and efficient team and delivery.DEVELOPMENT MANAGERKey Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Java developers.Oversee daily operations and ensure project milestones are met.Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.Project Coordination:Plan, execute, and deliver software projects on time and within budget.Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC).Network Management:Supervise network infrastructure to ensure stability and security.Collaborate with network engineers to optimise performance and resolve issues.Vendor Management:Coordinate with third-party vendors for system integrations, upgrades, and maintenance.Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.IT Technicians and Support:Oversee IT support staff to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues.Implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.Manage hardware and software procurement and inventory.Collaboration and Communication:Foster a collaborative environment among teams and departments.Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.Liaise with senior management to align IT strategies with business goals.Technical Expertise:Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.Provide technical guidance and support to the development and IT teams.Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.Problem-Solving:Identify and address potential risks and issues in projects and infrastructure.Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.Budget Management:Prepare and manage the departmental budget.Monitor expenses and optimise resource allocation.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience in Java development and team leadership.Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and IT operations.Excellent project management and vendor management skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
