ENVIRONMENT: JOIN the Data Team of a fast-growing FinTech company with a footprint on the African continent seeking a highly skilled Junior – Mid Data Scientist to help execute the credit scoring roadmap. The ideal candidate must balance analytical diligence with a willingness to learn and innovate. A healthy spirit of adventure and sense of humour would be helpful. Applicants must possess a Degree in Actuarial Science/Statistics/Mathematics or Engineering with proficiency in Google Big Query, SQL, Python & R. You must also have a solid understanding of data warehouses and data structures. DUTIES: Client Limit Management – Scorecard code maintenance, testing and reporting. Assist in development of scorecards and credit policy proposals. Analysis and recommendations based on test results. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications – Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. Experience/Skills - Be able to effectively communicate (orally/written) findings on analytical approaches. Ability to translate business problems into analysis. Proficient in Data Analysis tools (Google Big Query, SQL, Python, R). Strong numerical / coding abilities. Have a basic understanding of data warehouses and data structures.
