Senior Credit Risk Analyst (CPT Hybrid)

ENVIRONMENT: DRIVE the development of credit policy, product pricing and product features as the next Senior Credit Risk Analyst wanted by a fast-growing FinTech company with a footprint on the African continent. Included in the role is the development and monitoring of customer scorecards for both acquisition and existing customer credit policy decisions, as well as analytics aimed at optimising company profitability from its lending decisions. The ideal candidate must be analytically adept, self-driven, able to flourish in an unstructured management environment and have a passion for African business. You will require a Master’s Degree in Statistics/Data Science or related discipline with 5 years’ work experience in a similar role with proficiency in Python or R. DUTIES: Analyse data sets to identify factors correlated with Credit Risk outcomes. Develop Credit Risk models that forecast the likelihood of consumer default. Assist operations to achieve better Credit Risk outcomes by integrating models and data-driven approaches into operational processes. Determine risk-based product pricing to achieve profitability hurdles. Work with the Finance team and other stakeholders to build insights in customer profitability segments. Ensure that provisioning models are updated to sufficiently cover changing Credit Risk. Analyse complex data sets using SQL and other tools to extract insights and identify trends. Develop Junior Credit Risk and Data Analysts. REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications – Master's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or a related field. Experience/Skills – Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Credit Risk Analyst or similar role. Strong experience developing predictive models forecasting probability of default. Experience and knowledge of provisioning approaches and calculation. Experience with Programming languages such as Python or R. ATTRIBUTES: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
