The successful candidate will take responsibility for the full financial function of the life wrapped business with assets of more than R130bn. This is a growing business that operates in a highly regulated environment. You will interface with multiple teams and functions within Wealth and other Old Mutual segments. Your reporting line is to the CFO of Old Mutual Wealth.Key responsibilities will include amongst others the following:You are responsible for delivery of the financial management, accounting and financial control function through other managers and their teams.Application of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards, as well as integration with the actuarial valuation functionEnsure quality and timely financial reporting and analysis to support the Wealth Exco decision-makingDelivery of all financial and regulatory reporting and associated submissions to support Group external and regulatory reportingResponsible for tax management, allocation of tax across the tax funds and reporting to Group Tax.Contributes to and implements financial strategy.Assists in deciding on the financial and business viability of new and existing projects and programmes.Application of technical accounting and strategic thinking with the implementation of new product launchesAnalyse financial information and provide insight that supports decisions to improve competitiveness, profitability and growth.Drive the business planning process and outcomes for the life wrapped business as part of the Wealth and OML planning cyclesPrepare financial forecastsEnsure optimal capital utilisation in the businessResponsible for audit liaison as well as tax, legislative & statutory requirements.Qualification, Skills and Experience:Chartered Accountant7 - 10 years' experience in financial management of financial services companiesStrong life company & life wrapped investment product experienceExperience with the application of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9Sound understanding of the regulatory and tax requirements for life insurance companies and productsExperience in automation of financial processes and reportingProven experience in managing the controls in financial reporting processesSkillsEducationClosing Date28 May 2024The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.Old Mutual Limited is pro-vaccination and encourages its workforce to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.All prospective employees are required to disclose their vaccination status as part of the recruitment process.Please refer to the Old Mutual's Covid-19 vaccination policy for further detail.
