Job Purpose: To manufacture and ensure that all fibreglass equipment is maintained in good working order timeously and to a standard that will allow them to be run by production with minimal rejects. Attend to machine breakdowns of mechanical nature for all equipment under engineering functional control Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/ School leaving Certificate. Boilermaker Trade Test. Welding Qualification from an approved Training Institute. Minimum of 4- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Responsibilities: Maintenance Process (Scheduled): Receive Maintenance Schedules, interpret instructions and plan maintenance and repair work. Inspect the tooling and determine spares, materials and consumables requirements. Generate Job Requisitions for scheduled maintenance work (type of repair or maintenance, spares, quantities, time, etc.) Transport tools, equipment and spares to the work site. Conduct Preventive Maintenance activities. Maintenance Process (Breakdown): Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical/electrical nature for all equipment under engineering functional control. Update the responsible person on progress of repairs. Escalate the problem to the next level if it cannot be resolved successfully. Capture all information related to the breakdown to aid in determining the root cause. File job requisition upon completion of repair. Tooling Maintenance Inspect, maintain and repair production fibreglass tooling. Develop new tooling or modify existing fibreglass tooling when required. Inspect waterjet nests in the plant and asses and repair accordingly. Move, lift, lower and look after tooling Fabrication Develop and fabricate waterjet nests and any other fibreglass tooling from drawings and other methods as required. Mechanically cut, drill and punch fabrication materials Join metals using the welding process. Weld work piece (oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding) Remove metals using oxy-fuel and air-carbon arc gouging processes. Perform fabrication and welding as required on any equipment, structure and other work on projects, plant improvements or breakdowns. Maintenance Process (Post Maintenance): Complete the Planned Maintenance Schedule (Work completed, work not completed, spares used, spares not available, time taken, observations, problems, etc.) Identify any other work required (including additional material/spares) Clean up after completion of job and inform the responsible person that the maintenance has been completed to the required standard. Engineering Projects: Work as a project team member. Material Handling: Sling loads. Continuous Improvement: Participate in Continuous Improvement drives. Reporting: Complete Maintenance Time Sheets (nature of work, time spent to repair, and material/spares used #J-18808-Ljbffr
