A Shipping company in George is looking for an Operations Manager.Summary:The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the shipping and containers department. This role includes ensuring efficient and effective processes for the handling, storage, and transportation of goods, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, and optimizing operational performance.Key Responsibilities:Operations Management:Oversee daily shipping and container operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.Manage the loading and unloading of containers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize shipping routes and schedules.Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management.Foster a positive and productive work environment.Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and operational standards.Performance Monitoring:Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.Implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.Prepare and present regular operational reports to senior management.Customer Service:Manage relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure high levels of service.Address and resolve any operational issues or customer complaints promptly and effectively.Budget Management:Develop and manage the operations budget.Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control measures.Technology and Innovation:Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in shipping and container technology.Implement new technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
