IT Lecturer (JB4411) Overport, Durban Market Related The IT Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality academic content in Information Technology, developing curriculum, conducting research, and supporting students through both face-to-face and online modalities. The role includes significant contributions to course preparation, assessment, moderation, and curriculum development to align with industry and institutional standards. Requirements: Education: Minimum NQF Level 7 (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Experience: At least 3 years in industry and/or lecturing in a tertiary environment. Skills: Proficiency in C#, Java, Software Engineering; strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Other: Ability to work overtime as needed; flexibility to facilitate modules across various IT disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Academic Content Development and Lecturing: Design and update IT course materials including curriculum, lesson plans, methodologies, and assessment tools. Deliver engaging lectures and presentations, incorporating latest industry trends and academic standards. Supervise and mentor student projects and placements as required. Academic Leadership and Research: Lead research initiatives in IT subjects and integrate findings into the curriculum. Collaborate with academic peers and industry professionals to maintain program relevance and excellence. Student Records and Academic Monitoring: Oversee the student registration and examination processes. Ensure ethical and timely marking and moderation of assessments. General Academic Administration: Provide guidance, mentorship, and extra lessons to students. Participate in departmental and institutional committees and events. Student Support and Contact Sessions : Offer personalized guidance and support through various communication channels.
