About the Role  The overall purpose of the Youth Worker, Out of Home Care is to provide care and/or support to children and young people, in out of home care and/or living within at risk families. The care and support provided by Youth Workers will enhance opportunities for the young person to participate in age-appropriate activities to support development of positive self-regard, to support community inclusion, to support positive relations with family of origin and to contribute to placement stability. We're currently looking for permanent part-time and casual staff, to service our Southeast Region – encompassing Logan, Gold Coast and Surrounds. Pay Rates starting at: $35.99 per/hour for Permanent Part-Time and $44.99 per hour for Casuals (excluding allowances). This role involves being the primary caregiver during shift, ensuring the safety of young people in care, and imparting essential life skills to establish a consistent routine. Collaborating with the Coordinator and Service Manager, you'll help develop trauma-informed interventions for these young individuals with complex issues. What a day in the life of a Residential Youth Worker looks like: Planning and engaging in meaningful activities with the young person  Being a vital part of a cohesive team, dedicated to helping young people achieve their personal goals. Promoting good hygiene and nutrition Maintaining daily case notes, handling administrative tasks, and preparing incident reports Flexibility is key; you'll be needed for sleepover, weekend, and awake shifts. Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements A Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field Current Blue Card or a pending application  Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training Current Queensland Drivers Licence The ability to provide two recent referees of supervisors We are in a consultation period with the staff team to explore whether we will retain the 24hr shift component to our rosters or convert to 8- or 12-hour shifts across all services. Availability to work 24hours including sleepovers is essential for current needs.
