Electrical Technician Networking - IT Johannesburg - Gauteng Job Title: Electrical Automotive Technician Location: Gauteng (Mobile/On-site) Company: Sabenza iT Position Overview: Sabenza iT has an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Automotive Technician to perform on-site duties in the Gauteng area. This role requires mobility and the technician will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of all equipment installed on buses. Maintenance will be conducted according to the warranty and service requirements of the equipment providers, with corrective actions focused on fault identification and equipment replacement rather than component-level repairs. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Diagnose and isolate faults in equipment installed on buses; equipment will be replaced and sent for repair. Interpret schematic diagrams. Build power supply test fixtures, replicate load, and test circuits before connecting bus equipment. Fabricate various types of harnesses. Perform software updates. Use hand and power tools proficiently. Utilize test instruments, including battery testers and multimeters. Operate a laptop and be proficient with Word and Excel for reporting and communication. Assemble and position parts, aligning and fastening them according to specifications. Swap out faulty devices and send them for repair. Connect cables, tubing, and wiring as per technical specifications. Inspect, test, and adjust calibrated units to meet customer specifications. Apply inventory control procedures. Cross-train fellow employees as needed. Complete job cards and provide updates to the maintenance clerk daily. Log service calls with the service desk and follow up on their resolution. Return faulty equipment to our clients SA offices. Interface with third parties (e.g., bus manufacturers) and other stakeholders impacting on-board installations. Monitor vehicle health dashboards. Provide operational support on client assignments where applicable, proposing and implementing improvements. Education and Experience: Minimum N3 qualification with electronics as a subject. Practical training at a recognized institution. Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in task completion. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workloads without supervision. Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills. Accountable, adaptable to customer procedures, while following company protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with teams, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to build strong relationships quickly, both internally and externally. Professional, mature approach to work, demonstrating a positive attitude and commitment to quality. Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a passion for addressing customer needs and going the extra mile to achieve results. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, leveraging the strengths of each member.
