Pretoria Area - Gauteng : Our client is looking for a Farm Manager to join the team. This is a LIVE OUT position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous Business or Operations Management qualification and or experience essential Previous crop farm management (all aspects) experience essential Proven experience working with large combine harvesters and planting equipment essential Strong admin and record keeping skills Solid financial and operational management experience Staff / Human Resources Management experience Production and Processing knowledge raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques ABILITIES REQUIRED INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO : Excellent practical skills Able to operate under pressure Attention to detail Strategic Thinking Analytical Thinking ABILITIES&SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO : ***Management of: - Personnel Resources Financial Resources Material Resources Communication Skills Speaking Negotiation Writing Critical Thinking Strategic Analytical Complex Problem solving Judgement and Decision Making Deductive reasoning Inductive reasoning Quality Control Analysis Systems Evaluation Systems Analysis DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO : Contracts with farmers or independent owners for raising of crops or for management of crop production. Coordinates growing activities with those of engineering, equipment maintenance, packing houses, and other related departments. Analyzes market conditions to determine bed allocations. Confers with purchasers and arranges for sale of crops. Records information, such as production, farm management practices, and parent stock, and prepares financial and operational reports. Determines procedural changes in drying, grading, storage, and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy. Analyzes soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production. Inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning. Inspects orchards and fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather. Plans and directs development and production of hybrid plant varieties with high yield or disease and insect resistant characteristics. Purchases machinery, equipment, and supplies, such as tractors, seed, fertilizer, and chemicals. Evaluates financial statements and makes budget proposals. #J-18808-Ljbffr
