Swellendam Area – Western Cape: This successful farming operation seeks to add a maintenance manager to their team.The Maintenance Manager is expected to lead the Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facility’s infrastructure. Plan and oversee all aspects of the day to day running of an allocated workshop and team.Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSGrade 12/ MatricMinimum of 5 to 10 year’s proven experience in the maintenance and mechanical industryCOMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIREDExcellent planning and organizational skillsStrong leadership skills and ability to work confidently in a groupExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDriver’s licenseCompetent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision makingKEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREASPlan, prioritize, schedule and oversee maintenance duties according to best practicesRegular communication with General Managers regarding requirements, planning and progress Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenanceEnsure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered toImplementation of Standard Operating Procedures and checklists for operatorsManage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the departmentContribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activitiesEnsure that machinery and/ or equipment are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/ solutions when requiredAttend meetings and action/ communicate instructionsProduce written reports to the General Manager in terms of maintenance actions and costsTroubleshooting and problem solvingProvide technical expertise to the teamManage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvementsPerform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery, other mechanical equipment, gates, etc.Procurement of equipment and machinery according to company protocolsONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted.#J-18808-Ljbffr
