Description Our client in the Manufacturing industry is currently looking to employ a Senior Bookkeeper with IMPORT experience, based in Port Elizabeth.A wonderful career opportunity awaits you.Requirements:Minimum: Matric plus 3-year Finance related qualification.Minimum 5 years experience in bookkeeping and knowledge of imports.Good understanding of financial accounting principles as relates to the processing of transactions required in this role.Experience with processing computerized transactions on an ERP system.Advanced level of computer literacy (Ms Excel; SAP exposure).Highly organised and methodical individual.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver results in the face of competing priorities.Attention to detail. Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:Accurately process all foreign supplier invoices timeously.Link all foreign supplier invoices directly to PO in SAP after receipting.Accurate recording of clearing, VAT and Duty invoices for shipments relating to foreign invoices/imports.Accrue for all foreign goods in transit at month-end.Maintain the database for YTD foreign receipts.Prepare schedule of foreign goods received by airfreight.Prepare and distribute monthly Accounts Payable Age Analysis reports.Prepare the Received not Billed report for foreign suppliers for review.Prepare control accounts for review at month-end.Keeping track of Foreign payments to be made and advise Assistant Controller of cover required on a weekly basis.Prepare and post revaluation of cover taken on Foreign Exchange Contracts.Processing of journal entries.Review sales accruals and liaise with AR Accountants and Financial Controller.Ad hoc projects.Participate in periodic stock counts.Foreign Supplier recons – Check payments are done timeously.Please note should you not receive a response within two weeks of applying you may assume that your application was unsuccessful.
