Degree – Safety or Risk ManagementAdvanced HIRA qualificationAdvanced incident investigationMinimum 5 years’ experience in similar positionFairly good knowledge of the Transport industry will be a definite advantageMust have MS Office experienceKnowledge of ISO standardsIn-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety act and regulations and all relevant legislationsAbility to promote team work and co-operation and create a climate for motivation.Handle general queries regarding SHERQ issues within the working environmentsAn in-depth understanding of processes regarding the Workmen's Compensation Accident notifications, claims and resumption reportsAbility to work independently under pressurePossess Leadership qualitiesBe able to work in high stress environmentsMeet deadlines and work afterhoursWork within governed framework Duties & Responsibilities Conduct monthly inspectionsLead the divisional SHERQ teamsReporting to and meeting with Head office on a regular basisCustomer interactions and presentationsConduct monthly Safety & Environmental meetings on site with Contract Managers and Safety Committee MembersConduct and ensure on going risk assessments in line with corporate and customer requirementsUpdate and maintain site specific work procedures and safe work instructionsMaintaining of registers relating to machinery, tools, lifting equipment and pressure vessels on siteUpdate SHERQ Notice boards on a weekly basisCollect and assemble SHERQ Statistics for monthly reporting purposesAssist Managers in audit preparationEnsure legal appointments in place and applicableOperational audits to monitor compliance with company policies and proceduresUpdating of information onto the Management System which would include capturing of reports for all incidents, accidents, inspections and audits etc.Developing and maintaining SHERQ training and education programmesEnsure coordination and support of risk related eventsEnsure SHERQ legal compliance at all sites and operations for areas of responsibility  Policy We are committed to Employment Equity when recruiting internally and externally.
