Application period 16-Jan-2024 to 26-Jan-2024Functional Responsibilities:As part of the ATscale Advisory Group, the incumbents will provide strategic and technical advice and make recommendations on:the setting of priorities in alignment with ATscale’s overall goals and strategy, including the selection and prioritisation of possible areas for interventionthe identification of gaps and possible solutions to address them in activities / efforts in the AT sectorthe development of ‘living’ sector-wide strategiesstrengthening of country implementing partner capacity on specific thematic areasthe development of ATscale’s annual workplanthe scoping of possible interventions and the specifications for the scopes of work (TORs, calls/requests for proposals or other forms of inviting potential grantees or service providers to submit proposals) both at the global and country level (e.g. country concept notes, global public goods interventions)participation in the substantive, systematic, rigorous, detailed and high-quality technical and financial evaluation of proposals received against criteria such asalignment with the priorities of ATscalecoordination with existing and planned activitiesinclusion of relevant stakeholders (meaningful participation)programmatic merittechnical qualityATscale’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework and its implementationUndertake other related duties as requiredTravel may be required to attend in-person meetings or in-country reviewsEducation/Experience/Language requirements:Education:Advanced degree (Masters degree or above), ideally in Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, health or public health, rehabilitation, biomedical science, statistics or other relevant disciplines.A Bachelor’s degree in Audiology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, or medicine or rehabilitation related fields, in combination with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.Work Experience:A minimum of 7 years of combined experience in assistive technology in the areas of Public Health, Non-communicable diseases, eye and vision care, or ear and hearing care is requiredThe following are considered assets:Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice for planning, implementation, and monitoring of assistive technology programmesDemonstrated knowledge of large-scale health or education or social protection programmesProven track record either in the area of eye and vision care or ear and hearing careProven track-record of data collection, data management, quantitative and qualitative analysis and outcome reporting;Familiarity with disability rights and inclusion of disability in projects and programmes, as well as a foundational understanding of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities and other international instruments and relevant frameworksExperience in international development and/or humanitarian aid and/or working for a UN organization and/or an NGO in the field of eye or ear and hearing care.Language:Fluency in English Language ( Writing, Reading and Speaking) is required.Knowledge of another official UN language , is a an advantage.Think big.
