The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the financial actions of the entire organization, including its subsidiaries and business units across multiple countries. This includes overseeing financial planning, financial reporting, risk management, and ensuring the company’s financial health. The position has 4 direct reports at Senior Management level.Minimum Requirements / Experience:Bachelor’s degree: Finance / AccountingQualified CA(SA) / AGA (SA) highly advantageous5 – 10 years’ experience in finance, showing growth and progression within roles5+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role e.g. CFO or equivalentResponsibilities:Strategic Financial Planning and AnalysisDevelop and implement the financial strategy of the group.Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.Financial Reporting and ComplianceEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting to the executive team, board of directors, and regulatory bodies.Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements.Ensure compliance with local, national, and global financial regulations and standards.Risk ManagementIdentify and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and operational risks.Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.Capital ManagementManage the company’s capital structure and optimize funding strategies.Oversee investment activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.Maintain relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.Operational EfficiencyMonitor and manage cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.Implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Oversee treasury functions and working capital management.Leadership and Team ManagementLead and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.Coordinate with subsidiary CFOs and finance managers to ensure alignment with the group’s financial strategy.Foster a collaborative working environment within the finance department and across other departments.Supervisor involvement to include: hiring of all positions and performance review as well as mentoring through individual development; lead and provide context and expectations for team; direct engagement and managing deliverables and agreed KPI’sStakeholder EngagementAct as a primary point of contact for external auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies.Present financial reports and strategic plans to the board of directors and stakeholders.Communicate financial performance and strategies to internal and external stakeholders.Corporate GovernanceSupport the board in setting corporate governance policies.Ensure the company adheres to the highest standards of financial governance and ethical practices.CommunicationExecutive Team: Strategic planning and financial reportingFinance Department: Guidance and Leadership, Performance monitoring and problem solving within the departmentDepartment heads: Budget Management, Financial training by ensuring department heads understand financial implications of their decisionsInvestors and shareholders: Reporting and maintaining investor relations.Banks and Financial institutions: Obtaining funding and credit Judgement and decision making:Financial Strategy and PlanningFormulating and overseeing the company’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Supports long-term strategic goals by aligning financial resources with business objectives, driving sustainable growth and profitabilityCapital Structure and InvestmentDetermining the optimal capital structure and making investment decisions, such as raising capital through debt or equity, and evaluating major capital expenditures.Financial Reporting and Compliance Ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to regulatory requirements, and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders, which impacts investor confidence, legal compliance and operational integrity
