We are seeking the services of a dynamic professional to join our team as the Regional Director of Golf.***** Salary is Negotiable and will be discussed with successful candidate*******The DG is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the golf operations, services and facilities at the various locations within their appointed region , these key focus areas include but are not limited to the pro-shop, golf range, golf course, golf services areas, and golf cart operations. This includes managing, developing, controlling, planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the golf business both tactically and strategically with the Multi-Unit General Manager. The Director of Golf must provide a clear vision for the strategic direction of the golf business, identify additional sales and marketing opportunities and actively pursue the sales actions to secure golf events at the various facilities within their region, ensure customer service excellence is consistently delivered, and maximize revenues and profitability. They will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Ba-Phalaborwa and Skukuza golf clubs and for arranging golf days, competitions, and seeking corporate business development opportunities for the golf operations.Qualifications:Grade 12 or equivalent,A relevant PGA qualification or currently being employed as a Director of Golf at a comparable golf club or estateA business related qualification would be idealDriver's Licence essential.Experience3-5 Years as a Golf DirectorSpecialist knowledge of offering a world-class golfing experience;Financial and people management expertise; experience and success in running a profitable Pro ShopGENERAL MANAGEMENT:The overall management of the Ba-Phalaborwa and Skukuza Golf Clubs’ golf operationsDevelop/coordinate the development of annual business plans for the golf operationDevelop and oversee an innovative tournament schedule and golf activities program that services all customer segmentsOversee all fiscal areas and performance for the golf operations including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and correctionEnsure all role-players within the golf operations department are aware and understanding of what is required from them on a day-to-dayCoordinate and ensure all written correspondence, reporting, newsletters, and communications for the golf operationEnforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usageOversee all fiscal areas and performance for the golf operations including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and correctionPlay golf with customers/patrons of all skill levels as time and duties permitBusiness DevelopmentMeet, greet, and welcome prospective customers/patronsDevelop and oversee an innovative tournament schedule and golf activities program that services all customer segmentsOversee golf marketing initiatives including all promotional materials, play recruitment, yield management, golf packages, and outside events plus the promotion of new golf memberships (where applicablePlay golf with customers/patrons of all skill levels as time and duties permitIdentifies and develops new relationships for new business opportunitiesDelivers presentations to potential clients and stakeholders on Indalo Hotels & Leisure and its Golf product offeringsShares insights, legislation updates and hospitality management knowledge with potential clients to guide business proposals and applicationsORGANISATION & CONTROLSObservation of all areas within the golf operations department to ensure that optimal service is being provided at a high levelCheck the activities of golf operations, inspect the running of work and draft reports where applicablePlan, organise and coordinate the day-to-day running of the golf operations teamImplements controls and practices, and monitors these, with the purpose of ensuring that golf operations are performing work to the desired levels of productivity and cost-efficiencyEnsures that all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in a safe to use conditionImplements controls and monitors adherence to these controls as it relates to the safekeeping, maintenance, cleanliness and/or tidiness of all Estate property assigned to the golf operations teamMaintain and improve service levels on an ongoing basisPEOPLE MANAGEMENTDirectly Manages: Porters – Meet & Greet; Caddy Masters & Caddies; Starters & Marshalls; Cart Master; Driving Range Attendant; Pro-Shop staff.Discipline of Staff membersEnforcement of Club rules, Monitoring of play on the golf course and etiquetteSchedules and chairs regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvementOrganise and facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure all staff are kept abreast of happenings in the department and to ascertain current challengesConduct quarterly appraisals with all staff members within the golf operationsProvide feedback and on-the-job guidance to staff in between quarterly appraisals to assist with learning and weekly reporting to the Director and CEO regarding all facets of performance in the golf operations departmentPRO-SHOP(S) MANAGEMENTEstablish golf shop operations personnel policies and ensure proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with fair labour standards, safety and established policyDevelop and oversee a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with customer/patron demographics and needs.Knowledge (Job knowledge required)Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsFundamental supervisory practices and principlesAct as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behaviour and work ethic expected of all employeesStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skillsJob Type: Full-timePay: From R40000,00 per monthExperience:Golf Director: 3 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver's Licence (Required)#J-18808-Ljbffr
