Job Description:To design, configure, implement, and maintain required server and storage infrastructures, required to perform the various functions that enables the use of evolving technologies that support highly available infrastructure in hybrid environments where on premise and multi-cloud services are combined to provide agility and improve service delivery while supporting the ICT 4.0 Strategy.(ads1)Job Responsibilities:Assesses infrastructure and environment needs on projects and systems and to recommend solutions that conform to architectural blueprints and guidelines.Provides guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including application transfers into the cloud.Maintains and resolves the infrastructure related problems.Works closely with the Information Security Officer to monitor the university’s secure infrastructure.Troubleshoots the server infrastructure and maintain the smooth running thereof.Ensure optimal, secure functionality of systems by ensuring software operating systems and infrastructure hardware patches and firmware upgrades are being applied on a regular basis or when zero-day vulnerabilities have been identified.Monitors and takes care of all the services offered through the infrastructure.Responds to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.Job Requirements:Relevant hardware, application, and software certifications.Relevant Undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) with 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience, orEffective communication.Server hardware and virtual configurations, private cloud, clusters, and virtual environments (Hyper-V, VMWare, and vSphere)Relevant Professional Certification (Technical/Specialised positions) (NQF 7) with 5 years’ experience in relevant specialist skills.Compute, storage, and networking.5 years’ experience – Microsoft and Linux Operating SystemsSupporting the Microsoft stack including Office 365, SharePoint, be skilled with Active Directory, Azure hybrid cloud, and PowerShell.Minimum 5 years proven experience in:Job Details:Company:University of JohannesburgVacancy Type:Full TimeJob Location:GautengApplication Deadline: N/A(ads2)Apply Hereinstantcareers.net#J-18808-Ljbffr
