Educational & Training Requirements:Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or trade tested Mechanical FitterMinimum N6A certificate or diploma in supervisory management and/or a proven track record in a similar positionExperience Required: A minimum of 5 years in a similar positionAbove average computer skillsHydraulic and Pneumatic experienceMust be able to read CAD drawingsJob Requirements & Responsibilities:To maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standardControl Maintenance costs according to the budgetPurchasing of Spares and EquipmentManage projectsLiaison with suppliersImplementation of all Safety aspects within the PlantInvestigate and make recommendations with regard to improved performance of plant and machineryMust be strong on decision making and problem solving, Finding ways to improve efficiency of an operationManage artisans with regards to performance, discipline etc.Training and development of staffStand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when requiredDealing with all Engineering aspects within department, e.g. planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance and stock levels of spare parts.Inherent Job Requirements:Tolerance for stress and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
