Direct Reporting Line:Financial ManagerWe have a vacancy for a Brand Accountant. This position is based at our National Office based in Waterfall (Midrand).Duties and Responsibilities:Financial Controls and Policy ManagementImplements and monitors compliance to financial policies, procedures and frameworks to manage and maintain compliance across campuses. CReviews and assesses processes and methodologies with the aim of implementing changes and improvements.Reviews and assesses processes and methodologies with the aim of implementing changes and improvements.Develops appropriate controls within the finance department to monitor consistent service delivery.Complies with South African (SA) financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.Maintains financial security by following internal controls.Manages the adherence to the approvals framework and delegation of authorities lists across the business.Supports the internal audit procedure and assists with adherence to controls.Participates in the audit process (internal and external) and provides relevant information and support to auditors as required and deals with queries as necessary.Escalates audit related matters when required and carries out the appropriate actions to remedy the audit findings and limit any associated risk.Provides Campus Heads and the relevant campus staff with training on financial policies and procedures.Accounts and Financial ManagementPlans, manages and communicates weekly and monthly deadlines to campuses in order to meet financial requirements.Manages and oversees the processing and balancing of loan accounts as well as the day-to-day processing of transactions as required, including VAT reporting (Local & Foreign).Monitors and tracks performance against budget and prepares variance reports.Assists with collating the Brand BBBEE (Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment) reports for ADvTECH.Compiles the weekly cash flows.Recommends financial actions for the brand by analysing accounting options, identifying trends and risks and providing solutions.Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents across the brand.Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information across the brand.Proposes corrective actions to campuses for implementation and follows up on these corrective interventions thereafter.Review and approve payments and vendors for the combined institution.Set up budget templates for all campuses across the combined institution.Manages the overall month-end reporting process including month-end packs.Review month end recons/schedules, age analysis and month end journalsMaintains good working relationships with external parties including banks and various payment portal providers.Prepares various fee schedules based on final programme fees and allocates these per module thereafter for upload into the relevant systems.Reconciles and tracks that the correct values are represented in all systems during the registration period.Compiles financial performance reports per campus and assesses trends and risks.Human Capital ManagementEnsures that performance objectives are set and managed for the Finance Administrators, Assistant Accountant and National Accoutant and conducts performance reviews and development plans in accordance with policies and procedures.Ensures compliance to The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) legislation relevant to the department.Supports the Campus Heads in overseeing the Head: Finance team and providing support, training and guidance accordingly.System SupportOversees and maintains the financial system including the management of the integrity of data.Acts as the escalation point on the system to support finance related issues that arise.Escalates issues internally to the system support team as required.Competencies Required:LeadershipAccountancyCommunicationRisk ManagementReport WritingIntegrity and ethicsAttention to detail and accuracyMinimum Qualification Requirement:Minimum of a BCom in Finance or Advanced Diploma / Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting or equivalent/CIMA, Bcompt - Advantageous.Minimum Work Experience Requirement:Minimum of 3 - 5 years as a Financial Accountant or equivalent and 3 years management experience.Special Requirement: Driver's LicenseWe are anEqual Opportunity Employer .
