This role reports to the Financial AccountantKey Responsibilities:Adhere to the safety, security, and environmental procedures.Ensure preparation & submissions of monthly performance reports to line manager.Ensure quantifiable and meaningful monthly off-mine reporting in line with Operational Dashboard, Production & Financial PerformanceEnsure compliance to IFRS guidelines and Group financial Policies and ProceduresManage Debtors and CreditorsPrepare and manage monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement reconciliations.Completion of the annual Insurance declarations with the supervision of the Financial AccountantTechnical assessments – Generation of technical memorandums with the supervision of the Financial AccountantSupporting group Financial Shared Services with the clearing of GRIR monthly.Involvement in clearing of GRIR monthly and working with the GSS team.Responsible for ad-hoc payments (Foreign Payments; Retentions & Down payments)Responsible for administration of Travel System; Document Control & Insurance ClaimsManage Intercompany balances / Reconciliation.Manage Petty CashManage all fuel cards and fuel system.Manage external audits (providing feedback and support for the requests amongst other activities)Review and ensure all TAX and VAT compliance (including preparation of Tax pack for Group ReportingImplement and maintain relevant Financial Policies and ProceduresImplement, improve, and manage financial internal controls.QualificationsQualifications and Experience:Degree / Ndip in Accounting or relevant accounting qualification.Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the mining industryValid EC/Code 8 Drivers LicenseExperience in applying and implementing best practice principles.Role-specific knowledge:Track record of relevant experience.Extensive knowledge of SAPExperience in Accounting environments is preferred.Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical abilities.Experience in applying and implementing best practice principles.Ability to adhere to stringent deadlines.Knowledge and understanding of integrated systems.Experience in open pit and underground mining would be beneficial as well as experience gained in project/construction environments.Knowledge and Skills:Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to adhere to stringent deadlines.Knowledge and understanding of integrated systems (SAP and InEight would be beneficial).Must be able to work without supervision.Additional InformationRole based in Johannesburg on FIFO (Fly in Fly Out).Our Values:Put Safety First – We consider all risks to people and the environment before proceeding with any activity.
