A well-established food product manufacturer in Paarl is seeking to employ a Buyer to join their team. Responsibilities include: Gather data and prepare negotiations in terms of content and organizational aspects Research suppliers and raw materials Compare prices and assisting in the maintenance of price tools in consultation with the (lead) buyers Send out contracts, check order confirmations and informing the lead buyer responsible of the changes, if necessary Prepare, create, maintain and track contracts in SAP Create and maintain supplier and material master data Carry out efficient and effective sample management Carry out administrative processing procedures for complaints, in consultation with the (lead) buyer Responsible for procurement of raw material/packaging Generate Purchase Orders, and follow up withsuppliers to ensure on time delivery To expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems Coordination with Planning team for material planning and accurate projection Coordination with accounts for Payments to Vendors Fully leverage existing procurement strategies, contracts and relationships Build strategic relationships with key suppliers Lead localization in Raw and Packaging materials Internal / external price benchmarking Maintenance of price tools in consultation with the (lead) buyers Periodic Appraisal of suppliers&take necessary action on non performing suppliers with the team Experience, skills and knowledge required: Relevant Tertiary qualification More than 4 years of professional experience as a Buyer in the Food and Beverage industry or general manufacturing SAP experience (Essential) MS. Excel Intermediate skills (Essential) Based in Somerset West, Helderberg Personnel was establishedin 1998.
