The Life Corporate Actuarial Department conducts regular valuations for the African Life business, assesses capital needs, and monitors profitability, reporting directly to the CFO. This role involves analyzing valuation data and performing tasks related to quarterly reserving activities, such as calculating prospective reserves, IBNR, and monitoring claims experience. It also includes assisting with regular reporting for IFRS17, IFRS9, SII, and SAM to stakeholders, providing input and support for the Annual ORSSA process, and assisting with ad hoc model and assumption changes. Additionally, the role entails mentoring graduate trainees.
