Overview Reference 5010644 Salary ZAR/annum + medical and pension Job Location - South Africa -- Ekurhuleni Metro -- Isando Job Type Permanent Posted 23 May 2024 Closing date 27 May 2024 23:59 Revenue Accountant Finance Accountable for specialist outputs and initiating changes in processes, policies, procedures, standards and services within inter-related functional areas of responsibility. Job Purpose This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Revenue Manager to maintain and monitor the implementation of a pricing strategy and to monitor margin impact so as to ensure profitable revenue growth across all geographies. Key Accountabilities and Outputs Revenue Accounting Value-adding finance input to support the translation of strategic objectives into KPI's, financial targets and forecasts Monitor and track profitability indicators and incorporate into revenue reporting Monitor the impact of margin management practices such as promotions and markdowns Ensure the availability of timely and accurate customer and sales information and reports Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies Participate and support the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes Delivery in annual budgeting and forecasting processes by supporting cost centre owners to make informed financial decisions Support and deliver periodic re-forecasts ensuring that latest operational drivers are understood and considered and highlight risks and opportunities Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimising relevant operational practices, processes and systems Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls Manage cost drivers and take action to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies Engaging with the HOF and Regional teams to improve Finance understanding of the business, including revenue, cost and value drivers. Support cost centre owners to make informed financial decisions for initiatives aligned to the organisation's pricing strategy Build and maintain financial models which accurately forecast project and business performance Support and drive governance and control within the HOF and Regional Finance functions (including management of discounts&rebates) Preparation of weekly and monthly income statements and other financial reports together with commentary explaining variances. Accountable for monthly reconciliation of assigned GL accounts Monitoring, tracking and processing customer claims/rebates on a daily basis and ensuring accuracy and validity Supporting the Revenue manager with any work or project in line with the strategic finance teams' overall goals. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Essential) Upto 3 years experience (Operational Execution) SAP Microsoft Office PowerBi Key Qualities Critical Success Factors Understanding of Management Accounting, Revenue&Mix, Standard Costing, Variance Analysis and Bills of Materials Advanced Excel Experience in FMCG environment within Finance an advantage Business Partner experience Engagement with multiple stakeholders Communication Written proposals or presentations aimed at changing practices within or across business units or selling a product or service to external clients Problem Solving Proactive identification of functional problems that do not have predetermined guidelines, routines or procedures for solution, determine cause and impact, and choose the best alternative to solve the problem based on previous experience and an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning the problem.
