Junior Industrial EngineerUitenhage - Eastern CapeOur client in the automotive manufacturing industry requires a junior Industrial Engineer to plan, implement and improve total industrial engineering functions to support meeting the Company’s manufacturing objectives.Duties:Provide management with information in order to effectively manage organizational resourcesImplement and improve production line efficiency, standardised work processes, packaging, material information flow and KanbanConduct method studies for all existing and proposed operations within areas of delegated responsibility, in order to improve efficiency in production with an emphasis on material conveyanceDetermine accurate standard times for all existing and proposed operations within areas of delegated responsibility, through the application of the various work measurement techniques and communicate these to the responsible personInvestigate feasibility of projects under review, determine various alternative advantages / disadvantages and prepare justifications for management approvalConduct man assignment and line balance studies to ensure the best utilisation of labour and optimum labour costs within areas of delegated responsibilityStudy and observe implemented systems daily and implement corrective actions as required. Report irresolvable non-conformances to Senior Industrial EngineerDraw necessary MIFD for current and future plansLayouts and plant improvements with TPS philosophy in mindClose out all internal audit findings within areas of delegated responsibility in time and ensure that evidence is provided to show effective close-outConduct Housekeeping, Environmental and Health & Safety observation tours as scheduledDaily liaison with Line Management & provide assistance as requiredCompile & submit required monthly reports to Senior Industrial EngineerUndertake any other projects or tasks as assigned by Management from time to timeAny other tasks or duties as assigned by Management from time to time.REQUIREMENTS:An Engineering Degree /Diploma1 - 2 years industrial engineering experience in an automotive environmentAbility to assist in the design of factory layoutsComputer literacy must include MS Word MS Projects, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint,Auto CadMust have the ability to work under continuous pressureHave excellent communication skills.
