Description Our client in the automotive component manufacturing industry is currently looking to employ a Foundry Manager based in Port Elizabeth.A wonderful career opportunity awaits you.Requirements: A tertiary qualification in Quality / Production field.Successfully completion of Supervision Program.Trade certificate or relevant trade will be beneficial.At least 10 years’ experience in foundry manufacturing environment.At least 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor.Knowledge of control plans, SPC and FMEA.Working with Problem Solving Methodology (Six sigma, 5 why’s and 8D).Energy management, Project Management and optimization of plant equipment.Analytic and innovative and fosters constructive teamwork.Computer literacy essential.Responsibilities, but not limited to:Strategically evaluate current state of business and align the Foundry Management Team to move to true world class manufacturing status.Drive the Foundry Management team to achieve daily set targets in line with the company and department goals and objectives as agreed upon between Senior management.Responsible for summarizing, analysing and generating downtime reports of all shifts OEE sheets, taking correct actions and/or escalating to service departments should target not be achieved.Instill and improve disciplinary practices within the FoundryImprove communication in the department and with other departments.Play an active role in the daily management meetings and problem solving.Explore and incorporate artificial intelligence within the Foundry processes and incorporate machine learning principles.Play an active role in the live cycle management of casting equipment and dies & understand the process of Dimensional control.Analysis Data from Scada, Halden, Clarity, Data prophet and all systems that are in place.Active involvement in the process of core design, recommending good Engineering design practices in order that core life is extended.
