They are seeking for a dynamic Chief Executive Officer who will enable the company to be the best passenger transport services in the African continent. The role will be reporting to the Board of Directors, the purpose of the job is to drive strategic planning and implementation, to achieve short and long-term objectives. Ensure that the vision and mission of the company are achieved. The incumbent is expected to show proof of prior success in developing business strategies and tactical plans to ensure alignment with short and long-term objectives. You shall lead a team of professionals, which includes an executive team, a technical team, and a non-technical team. Shall build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders Key Performance Areas&Duties Acts as a direct liaison between the Board and management of the company and communicates to the Board on behalf of management. Must have a great leadership acumen and a passion for the organisation and its people. To set and execute the company's strategy, allocate capital, build, and oversee the executive team. To ensure the successful running of the operations To assist the Board of Directors in its policy-making duties. To adhere to the service level agreements agreed with contracting authorities and private clients. To lead, in conjunction with the Board, the development of the company's strategy. To lead and oversee the implementation of the company's long and short-term plans in accordance with strategy. To ensure that the company has adequate resources to undertake its mandate. To compile and effectively manage the operating and capital budgets of the company. To ensure the expenditure of the company is within the authorised annual budget. To assess principal risks of the company and ensure they are monitored, mitigated, and managed. To ensure that effective internal controls and Management Information systems are in place. To ensure there are appropriate systems to enable the company to conduct its activities lawfully To effectively interact and communicate with employees, passengers, the public, elected officials, the press, and all other stakeholders to provide transparency and insight into the company's implementation of policies and its current and future status. To ensure that the company maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility in whatever business it conducts. To communicate effectively with all stakeholders To sit on committees of the Board (where mandated by the Board) and enable the Board and its committees to make informed decisions You must have a proven track record of having successfully led a company or a major portfolio in a medium or large company and possess the following attributes: Post graduate qualification in transport management, planning, economics, engineering, business management or equivalent. MBA/MBL is an added advantage A minimum of 5 years experience as a Chief Executive Officer or a Leader operating in a strategic position A deep knowledge of the relevant transport-related policies, legislations, and regulations is also a vital requirement for consideration for the position. Experience in the transportation/transit industry or sector Experience in managing Senior Managers in diverse business functions such as business strategy, human capital, operation legal&compliance, finance, research and development, marketing and communication, and information technology. Excellent Communicator with superior report writing and presentation skills. Communicating with diverse groups and making structured presentations is one of the key requirements of the position. Demonstrate an appreciation for the public transport operations, including the Taxi industry. Ability to comply with the standards of conduct of the Director as prescribed by the Companies Act 71 of 2008 (‘the Act”) as an ex-officio member of the Board.
