They are our greatest asset.Join us and let’s grow together.We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Witbank, Mpumalanga area.The succesful candidate will be responsible for managing the Opencast and Surface Operational areas, ensuring delivery against the Operational Strategy and Business Plan in the areas of Safety and Production through the selection, development and optimal utilisation of people and equipment; the management and monitoring of the relevant processes; driving business improvement projects for the Complex; the identification and management of risks in areas of responsibility; and the creation of the culture and work environment that is in line with the Glencore Values and Code of Conduct.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading the strategy and business plan for the Operational Areas.Ensuring the capability, optimal allocation and optimisation of people, financial and other resources.Process Management – ensuring process knowledge & competence of the team, ensuring that process controls are in place and that good standards and best practice are implemented and shared within the Complex and across the Group.Leading by example in demonstrating the correct behaviour and recognition on the ground and setting the tone for the culture and positive climate at the Operations as well as ensuring effective communication.Overseeing Risk Management and maintenance of Standards.Internal stakeholder engagement and assisting the GM with external stakeholder engagement.Reviewing, resource optimisation and monitoring of performance and putting in place mitigation plans where necessary.Minimum Qualifications:A Tertiary qualification in Mining, Engineering or Metallurgy.A business qualification will be an added advantage.Minimum Experience:Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Operations Manager (both Opencast and Surface) or Engineering Manager or equivalent role.Behavioural Competencies:Ability to take the lead, setting objectives, sequencing processes/initiatives/projects and organising resources to manage risk and achieve objectives.Ability to maintain high levels of individual and team performance by driving the achievement of goals, targets and financial objectives.Ability to inspire and foster commitment, pride and trust amongst team members, seeking and valuing contributions and encouraging collaboration.Ability to carefully and objectively analyse and evaluate information to inform decisions and key actions.Ability to take decisive action and assume responsibility for making difficult decisions that affect people and business performance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
