Job Advert Summary Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a regional Academic Programme Convener (Faculty of Information Technology), to be based at our Vanderbijlpark campus, on a permanent basis. Type of position : Permanent employment opportunity The Position : To manage the day-to-day delivery of lecturing of the BSc Information Technology programme. Minimum Requirements Minimum qualification : Honours degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, or IT related Relevant Masters degree will be preferable Experience : At least five years’ experience as a lecturer in the higher education industry At least two years’ experience in educational management and leadership Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities : As the Academic Programme Convener, you will be primarily responsible for the following: Accountability areas – operating / financial results accountable for: Accountable for the operational delivery of lecturing related to Information Systems and Computing programmes and offerings (lecturer performance) at the allocated campus Accountable for the performance of the community of practice and alignment with development hub Operational process outputs: Qualification related subject matter expertise Lecturing responsibilities (at least one module per block, which may go up to 75% of total workload allocation) Management: Budgets Input into academic budget ICA claims processing Operational planning e.g., programme implementation planning and training (per mode of delivery) incl. sequence, prerequisites, etc. (academic planner) Monitoring, control, corrective action Reporting – regular feedback as per program manager requirements and Head of Programmes Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving – 1st point of contact for student complaints Resourcing and capacity management (people; equipment) Leadership: Assistance with talent acquisition, selection and onboarding Individual performance management - role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions Culture and climate and change Functional and Behavioural Competencies Functional competencies : Computer literacy – well developed MS Office skills Working knowledge of learning systems (LMS) Good understanding of qualification frameworks and academic processes and governance structures Good understanding of management principles and remote managerial abilities Behavioural competencies : Initiative and responsibility: People leadership and development: Relations and networking Effective communication Professional and technical expertise Self-development Analysis and judgment / problem solving Systematic approach (planning and organising) Execution – attention to detail Steadiness (emotional tenacity) #J-18808-Ljbffr
