Hire Resolve's Client is looking for an Accountant to join their team in Gauteng. Create a strong disciplined financial environment by implementing the financial planning processes with regards to Capital expenditure, frequent measuring against plans and analysing results through enablement and communication. Ensure implementation of all financial reporting processes by driving a strong compliance framework with the capital expenditure as well as asset management environment. Design and implement a cost and enterprise management system to manage and control capital projects. Develop and consolidate a Group 3-year Capital expenditure budget by supporting and guiding Operations management teams in developing the budgets and supporting Operations Management teams towards achieving their business performance objectives. Preparation in conjunction with Ops Management of annual budgets, forecasts and reporting in order to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business performance objectives as well as short-, medium- and long term company objectives. Maintaining a 3-year rolling forecast for Capital Expenditure with reference to approved budgets, authorised deviations thereto, and analysing and reporting on variances. Comparison and review of actual project expenditure with budget and/ or forecast; analysis and interpretation of variances to ensure that the budgets/ expenditure and forecasts are aligned with the organizations overall strategy. Evaluation of capital expenditure, other investment or acquisitions using appropriate techniques by evaluating alternative courses of action and to make specific recommendations by using investment appraisal techniques. Drive efforts to improve cost efficiency of capital Expenditure; ensure standard and automated transaction processing and drive performance excellence across the function. Drive the continuous measuring of Capital expenditure performance against financial budgets and forecasts for the Group in accordance with business goals and objectives that includes cost control initiatives. Evaluate and review current project-, and capital policies and procedures, amend if required and ensure compliance. Ensure governance is met for project expenditure through workflow. Ensure adherence to legislative and corporate governance compliance requirements to manage risk and consequences on non-compliance. Execution of capital accounting processes timely and effectively, ensuring operational discipline and strict adherence to internal accounting guidelines and controls. Ensure compliance to the finance and project processes and capture related transactional data into the finance system. Give advice on accounting practices for mines on a monthly basis. Provide necessary leadership to the project team that will ensure finance processes are understood, valued and adhered to. Drive initiatives as appropriate to improve work practices and procedures. Participate and involvement within the project team to progress projects through its different stages. Prepare and distribute project information as per agreed time lines. Design project cost reports for the project team and any other stakeholders. Analyse, control and manage information of the projects' work in progress against a Work Breakdown Structure. Execute and achieve period end close process according to set metrics and deadlines. Support any necessary Commercial decision making. Responsible to assist with the preparation, feedback and assistance of the auditing process on Asset Related as well as Capital Expenditure related items. Establish and maintain good working relationships and effective and Sound communication system with the organisation finance and project functions, suppliers, external advisors and auditors. Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the Operations Finance Function. Ensure that all Operations Finance reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules. Preparation of non-routine reports that analyses and interpret financial and Numerical data to assist in identifying, assessing and managing business risks as well as to contribute to longer term balance sheet and capital structure management. Analyses and interprets variance, budget and cost reports, in order to evaluate actual performance against plans and the effects of external factors on cost. Ensure the lifecycle of all fixed assets within Operations are maintained i.e. monthly fixed asset reconciliations, depreciation runs and other period end processing tasks to provide accurate amounts within property, plant and equipment on the financial reports are completed accurately. Perform post-completion audits of projects and investments. Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company's Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct. Requirements B.Com Degree (Accounting or Management Accounting) A minimum of 5 years project environment experience of which 3 year is at supervisory level Auditing/ Accounting/ Management Accounting systems experience (AccPac and ESSbase Advantageous). Advanced ability to evaluate project cost. Commercial experience with major contracts as well as financial evaluations of contractor's financial situation. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office Suit Package (Excel Advanced). Valid driver's license. ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENTS: CIMA Qualification or B. Com Hons Degree Project Management Certificate / Diploma MDP (Management Development Programme) TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Demonstrate knowledge and skill with regards to financial accounting standards, practices, tax directives and legislative requirements. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in risk management principles and practices with regards to all aspects of major projects Demonstrate strong commercial and financial knowledge and understanding of internal financial controls. Demonstrate knowledge and skill as a commercially astute, business minded, operationally oriented individual of superior intelligence who is profit driven with bottom line awareness. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and capital processes, as well as expenditure control against these.
