Overview Reference Financial Controller Salary ZAR/month Job Location - South Africa -- City of Cape Town -- Cape Town Job Type Permanent Posted 16 November 2023 Our client is looking for a Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing the day-to-day financial operations within the company as well as leading and supervising the financial team, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the team. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management accounting reports and obtain input and commentary on performance, progress and reasons for variances where relevant. Ensure that reconciliations and controls are performed and signed off timeously. Identify and report financial irregularities and potential problems to the Senior Financial Manager Prepare periodic financial statements including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and obtain input and comment on the performance, progress and reasons for variances. Year-End Audit preparation and Auditors Assistance Prepare monthly income statement per branch as per requirements. Develop and provide reports for all departments. Prepare and distribute all reports required on time Maintain an orderly, updated accounting filing system for all documents. Coach non-financial managers on interpreting and communicating financial data. Assist Heads of Departments with the preparation and review of annual budgets as well as financial reports Assist with the preparation, consolidation and review of strategy, plans and budgets for the division and each branch. Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term business planning. Research financial information for audit purposes and financial reporting. Ensure fair allocation of workload. Key Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Understanding of financial regulations and compliance is crucial. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Strong analytical skills help in forecasting and financial planning. Ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals. Upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in financial matters. Staying updated with the latest financial practices, regulations, and industry trends.
