DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Java developers. Oversee daily operations and ensure project milestones are met. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs. Project Coordination: Plan, execute, and deliver software projects on time and within budget. Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Network Management: Supervise network infrastructure to ensure stability and security. Collaborate with network engineers to optimise performance and resolve issues. Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors for system integrations, upgrades, and maintenance. Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met. IT Technicians and Support: Oversee IT support staff to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues. Implement and maintain IT policies and procedures. Manage hardware and software procurement and inventory. Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative environment among teams and departments. Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders. Liaise with senior management to align IT strategies with business goals. Technical Expertise: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Provide technical guidance and support to the development and IT teams. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements. Problem-Solving: Identify and address potential risks and issues in projects and infrastructure. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks. Budget Management: Prepare and manage the departmental budget. Monitor expenses and optimise resource allocation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in Java development and team leadership. Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and IT operations. Excellent project management and vendor management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
