Rondebosch Boys’ High School is seeking a candidate who fulfills the following skill set: Brass Teacher: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching all brass instruments to learners from Grade 8 - 12.This will include providing instruction, guidance and support to students in developing their skills and musical understanding. Teach Music Literacy and General Music Knowledge (GMK) elements of either the FET Western Art Music (WAM) or Jazz curriculum, or both. Music Theory to Grades 8 and 9. Instrumental Ensemble Director (Wind Band/Jazz Band Advantageous). Computer Literacy and Music Notation Software Experience. Teaching experience in a school environment. The successful candidate’s experience will be : Strong background in brass performance, pedagogy and a passion for teaching Solid understanding of music theory and history, with the ability to engage and inspire students in these areas. Experience and expertise in running instrumental ensembles will be advantageous. This role involves leading and directing student instrumental groups, organizing rehearsals, selecting repertoire and preparing performances. Experience in creating and editing musical scores, organising music resources, and integrating iPad technology into music education.
