Reference Number: 652 2005 MHUJob Description:Our mining services client is seeking a Site Manager / BU Manager for their client’s operations in Limpopo. This is a remote position. The primary purpose of the role is to oversee a tailings dam operation on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time, within budget and to high quality standards. This role carries a MH&S Act legal appointment (Reg. 2.6.1).Responsibilities:Lead the team on the operationPromote a culture of care on the operationProduction, maintenance and administration on siteCost controlSubcontractor managementManage the Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality aspects of the company’s activitiesEnsure that the management and statutory reports are accurate, timeous and of good qualityManage the hazard identification, risk assessment and training systemsLead and participate in operations’ safety inspections and auditsPerform incident and accident investigationsManage the implementation of OHSAS 18000+, ISO 14001, ISO 9001Ensure the client’s accreditation is positively supported by the company’s activitiesManage the integration of SHE systems with client operationsMaintain discipline on siteMaintain an organizational safety cultureMaintain excellent housekeeping standards on siteManage the onboarding processesInstill a caring culture and promote wellness among the company’s employeesApply business thinking to add value to the organizationClient liaison to ensure healthy relationship on siteRequirements:Qualification and SkillDiploma or degree in a Technical qualification (Mining, Civil, Geological, Environmental or Engineering related).Management Development Program (advantageous).At least 5 year’s post qualification experience as management team member in a tailings or production field, HIRA, Legal liability, Discard/Tailings management.Previous experience in bulk materials handling in mining, including coal discard / tailing dam management, Contractor management (key competence).Strong leadership ability Understanding of maintenance principles.Understanding and application of the project contract on site.Good communication skills – both written and verbal.Demonstrable ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.Computer literacy: Windows operating system, Microsoft Office suite.Female candidates strongly encouraged to applyBenefits and Contractual information:Permanent roleIf you wish to apply for the position, please send your CV to mhuber@camining.com.
