SFP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sanlam Group.What will you do?Purpose of the role• The Chief Information Officer is responsible for the management and direction of all IT resources in line with the business strategy and priorities, and for timeous delivery of information technology projects as agreed by SFP management and the SFP Board. As the successful incumbent, you will be required to advise on current and future technology capabilities and directions, the opportunities that IT provide, and what the business has to do to capitalize on these opportunities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating a strategic plan that defines how IT will contribute to the business's strategic objectives and related costs and risks, create tactical IT plans that are derived from the IT strategic planOutput/Core Tasks:• Develop IT strategy with strategic goals to enable the IT needs of the business. Ensure that IT capabilities are geared for future business plans• Ensure alignment of the IT strategy to the business strategies of the business• Continuously influence, shape and drive the IT strategy and the associated transformation and demand of the business• Responsible for building a strong winning culture, leading change and building capability in the team and managing relationships with key stakeholders• Aligning IT demand and supply with the business objectives and requirements.• Taking ownership for defining, prioritising and translating demand into architectural change and simplification, including digital insurance transformation initiatives. This entails partnering with SGT Architecture and Business Design to define, prioritise and translate demand into technology product change and simplification, including digital insurance transformation initiatives.• Take accountability for managing the delivery, including quality of delivery and driving of improvements together with Sanlam Group Technology. This includes IT services and change delivery• manage solution providers both inside and outside of SFP and the Sanlam group.• has a responsibility to ensure that our entire tech stack remains aligned to the cyber security and governance structures available from Sanlam to ensure the integrity and security of the SFP solution set, also when deployed to broker members.• Own and provide oversight and visibility into the IT budget and execute sound financial management and IT value optimisation, including monthly reporting. Advise the business on the total cost of ownership of IT investments.• Accept accountability for IT governance, compliance and risk management• Oversight of IT operational issues to ensure they receive the necessary attention and are resolved within SLA and highlighting any concerns or blockages to the business units• Stakeholder management of key Business stakeholders end to end to align business and IT priorities and strategyWhat will make you successful in this role?Qualification & experience• Related IT Degree, MBA or other similar post graduate qualification will be advantageous.• Exposure to agile methodology, technology architecture, integrating systems and providing technology services to multiple business partners.• Experience in managing IT service delivery at a strategic level.• At least 10 years' prior financial services industry related experience, of which at least 5 years should have been in a senior management position.Proven experience to include:• Managing IT Service delivery at a strategic and operational level• Developing key account management plans and service offerings• Partnership and relationship development• Budget ownership and financial management• IT solution development and business case planning• Extensive knowledge of key business processes and drivers within the financial services industry• Broad knowledge of technology (existing and emerging) and its application in the life industry• Financial acumen, reporting and costing capabilitySanlam core competencies• Being resilient• Collaborates• Cultivates innovation• Customer focus• Drives resultsPersonal qualities• Cultivates innovation• Client centricity• Results driven• Collaboration• Flexibility and adaptability• Strategic mindset• Plans and aligns• Balance stakeholders• PersuadesBuild a successful career with usWe're all about building strong, lasting relationships with our employees.
