Read more at www.dsv.com Location: Kempton Park Job Posting Title: Pharmacist, Solutions Time Type: Full Time Grade 12 Bachelor of Pharmacy Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council Advanced Computer Literacy level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Job Related Requirements Minimum of 1 year experience in either Warehousing, Distribution or Production in the Pharmacy sector. Locum experience within these sectors will be considered. o Demonstrate Quality Lead support ensuring full site compliance, including but not limited to: DSV Policies (domestic and global), and Domestic authoritative statutory measures (eg. SAHPRA, DoL, etc.); • Training: o Demonstrate Quality Lead support eQuality Management System (PharmaQMS) compliance; o Facilitate the necessary training of employees (operations, sales, HR and IT) inclusive of on-site contractors • Consumer / Retail product management: o Health product identification and compliant storage, with segregation by resultant UN Code and/or MSDS category. This to be done collaboratively with DSV Quality / Compliance Department; • Problem Solving: o Effective Root Cause Analysis, Trend Analysis, Problem Solving and implementation of Corrective and Preventative Measures; • Auditing: o Ensure audit readiness aligned to DSV adopted Integrated Management system, adopted PharmaQMS as well as prescribed regulatory impositions. This inclusive of preparation, execution and reporting of mentioned audit scope; • Stress and Conflict: o Effective techniques and/or skills to manage conflict, cope with stress and work under pressure to meet deadlines; • Communication: o Communicate effectively (written and verbal) to manage and meet both internal and external customer expectations; • Willing to work night shift. • Contractor Management o Support Quality Lead with business partner reviews per annual developed plan. This focused on licenses, certifications, processes, staff, training and equipment; and related.nsuring ongoing Pharma Added Advantages for this role • Ability to interpret pharmacy legislation; • Prepare and implement necessary policies, procedures and codes of practice; • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach and continuously develop pharmaceutical quality, and other related obligations; • An understanding of pharmaceutical production, whether largeor small-scale; and • An understanding of quality assurance and audit processes in relation to the pharmaceutical industry and associated quality management systems. Main purpose of the role The successful incumbent will be obligated to ensure adherence to statutory requirements as outlined in the Pharmacy Act 53/1974, Medicines and Related Substances Control Act 101/1965 and all associated regulations. Commitment to quality in respect of pharmaceutical product integrity remains pivotal. Further to the said, with the DSV business’ participation in the Global HealthcareQMS certification – a voluntary standard maintained by DSV’s Global Healthcare Compliance Department – the incumbent is required to portray a Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Quality Lead role, which endeavours to uphold the stated standard. This particular portfolio is perceived as a part-time role mainly determined by the facility’s assigned tier and, therefore, its associated capabilities. Regardless of full or part-time consideration, commitment to quality in respect of pharmaceutical product integrity remains pivotal with the incumbent, per occasion, portraying the role of the delegated representative acting on behalf of the Responsible Pharmacist. This done in good faith and ensuring appeasement of regulatory authorities, whether domestic or foreign, as and when required. Duties and Responsibilities • Assume responsibility for all compliance obligations set forth in the Pharmacy Act 53/1974, Medicines and Related Substances Act 101/1965 and associated regulations on behalf of the DSV Solutions’ business unit; • Upholding GxP principles at the DSV Solutions Gauteng Park wholesale pharmacy; • Per occasion, act as deputy or delegated Responsible Pharmacist (RP) to the DSV Solutions Gauteng Park wholesale pharmacy as and when required by the appointed RP; • Co-ordinate repackaging of medicines, as and when required; • Co-ordinate the destruction of medicine according to client and regulatory requirements, as and when required; • Aid in remedying warehouse control and management system discrepancies; • Maintain the flow of product and ensure accurate record keeping; • Active participation in stock disposition decisions in respect of product damage(s), market returns, product recalls and product complaints (pharmacovigilance); • Active participation in procedures associated with product lifecycle i.e. receiving, sampling, retention and other; • Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, process flows and / or other written documentation in pursuit of pharmaceutical quality, as and when required; • Assist with audit undertaking whether internal or external audits, including but not limited to, procedure selfinspections, supplier, client and regulatory audits; • Active participation in CAPA process to ensure successful closure of identified shortcomings; • Support the maintenance of DSV’s central reporting repository in respect of DSV Solutions Gauteng Park SLA’s; • Data analysis, report execution and process improvement in support of solution development, implementation and operational excellence, as and when required; • Act as tutor to pharmacist assistants and be registered as such with the South African Pharmacy Council; • Provide assistance and apply knowledge, where needed, for general functions; • Review temperature monitoring equipment and related data, as and when required; • Active participation with facilities’ resources and infrastructure maintenance including but not limited to temperature probes, scale calibration and related; and • Close relations (including training&coaching) with Operational team members, Projects and Engineering, DSV Learning and Development department, business units and DSV clients in the development and implementation of customised solutions.
